Lazy Weekends and Hearty Crockpot recipes, the combination I am in love with.
This Keto Crockpot Chili was an Instant hit at the table last night, my husband literally went gaga over this No Bean Keto version .
Don’t make the same mistake as I did of thinking that this Low Carb version wouldn’t be able to hit all the marks but believe me the flavor still remains off the chart.
If you have been following my blog for a while you guy’s know Crockpot’s are my thing and I don’t know what would I do without them because I love their dump it and forget it concept.
Recently I made a collection of Keto Crockpot recipes so not only I don’t have to waste my time thinking what to make but whatever I choose can be prepped at minimal time.
Chili was one of my favorite comfort foods back in the days when I weighed almost 180 pounds and being on Keto diet made me miss this spicy classic, So I thought why not make a Low Carb version of Slow Cooker Chili.
What Is Chili And Is It Ok On Keto ?
Chili Originally Chili Cor Carne is a spicy stew made with meat, tomatoes, peppers, beans, garlic and other spices. And No, Chili can’t be in the Keto category unless Beans are excluded from the recipe.
So dropping Beans from the Ingredients was a must because beans are too high in carbs and since they were a significant part of the recipe they had to be replaced with something.
Therefore I got really creative with some Keto dressings on the top using avocado and cheddar cheese or extra veggies, because that was the only way to fill the emptiness in the recipe.
And I am not exaggerating but melted cheese and avocados really didn’t make me miss the beans at all.
Can you put Raw Meat in a Crockpot ?
You can, but I don’t recommend doing it because the Crisp and savory flavor you get on the meat when you cook it with oil and onions before moving it into the Crockpot will never be the same if you directly dump the meat into the Crockpot.
So if you have 10 minutes to spare for prep time, I would recommend you to caramelize the meat separately so not only its tender and juicy when served but also full of flavor.
